Ferrell and Hill Insurance Agency was formed in 1950 by Robert F Ferrell and Dennie L Hill with the principles of honesty, integrity and service to their clients. Under the leadership of Dennie Hill the small agency grew both organically and by the acquisition of other insurance agencies becoming the premier insurance agency in Boone County. In 1963, to continue the growth of the agency, Dennie hired James H Cooke, his nephew. Through the hard work and dedication of both agents, Ferrell and Hill continued to expand their personal lines insurance business and branched out to write insurance for businesses that included municipalities, county commissions, board of educations, car dealerships, and all other types of small and large businesses. Dennie Hill’s son, David L Hill, joined the agency in 1977 and after the retirement of Dennie L Hill became the owner of the agency. In January 2016 Chris Parker became a partner and part owner. Chris had been an agent with Ferrell and Hill for over for 12 years before becoming part owner, concentrating in commercial property and casualty insurance.

In 2026, Ferrell & Hill Insurance Agency continued its tradition of growth and community commitment through the acquisition of C.B. Hall Insurance Agency, a respected Charleston agency founded by C.B. Hall in 1961. The partnership brought together two agencies with shared values of personal service, integrity, and long-term customer relationships while preserving the legacy and reputation built by both organizations.

Today, Ferrell & Hill Insurance Agency continues the belief that every customer is more than a policy number and deserves exceptional service, trusted advice, and personal attention. More than 75 years after its founding, the agency remains committed to the principles on which it was built—honesty, integrity, and service to our clients—while continuing to grow and serve new communities throughout West Virginia.
